倫斯勒理工學院藝術系（Department of the Arts）成立于1972年，是公認的美國研究型大學里首家開設電子藝術項目的學校。*(1)

倫斯勒理工藝術系與工作室，即今日所指的倫斯勒理工一體化電子藝術（iEAR），開設的電子藝術碩士項目（MFA）設立于1991年，隨之結合了倫斯勒理工語言、文學和傳播系，新的項目——電子媒體、藝術與傳播理學學士（BS）在1996年設立。1998年和2002年又相繼出現了信息技術學士（BS）和電子藝術學士（BS）。2007年，游戲與仿真藝術與科學學士（BS）項目首次招收第一批學生和博士生。

倫斯勒理工學院藝術系開設有電子藝術本科和研究生項目，并與傳播與媒體系聯(lián)合開設了電子媒體、藝術與傳播學士項目。學系導師開設的研究領域有：
