在申請maryland時，有一個材料這么要求：Please include a 300-500 word two-part statement of your (1) goals and research interests and (2) experiences. Part 1 should be a realistic and well-informed statement of your study plans. This statement is the basis on which a faculty member will support your admission as initial advisor. There must be a close match between individual faculty research specializations and your interests. Part 2 might include how you became interested in the field of geography, your community and family background, or any other factors that you feel would contribute to the diversity of our academic community. Include examples of your determination to pursue your goals, and your initiative and ability to develop ideas and work through problems independently.

SOP沒有另作要求。。感覺兩個文書難以避免有重復(fù)內(nèi)容。。。SOP已經(jīng)寫好，這一篇supplement該怎么寫。。

@leonardz　我覺得這個重點應(yīng)該是在第二部分上，有點像UC系統(tǒng)的PHS，但又有區(qū)別。

SOP的重點可能在：1）你的career goals and research interests;2)你的科研經(jīng)歷，以及你是如何勝任這個領(lǐng)域的。重點在展示你科研能力和潛力上。

這個PS（如果一定要區(qū)分的話，可以把這個叫PS）的重點，應(yīng)該是第二部分，有點像是說你是如何對領(lǐng)域感興趣的，重點在這個“如何”上面，還扯到了“diversity”上。

@leonardz　這個不應(yīng)該是你理解的那樣，就是單純在問你，你用過的電腦（Mac、Pad、PC）和操作系統(tǒng)（windows、iOS、Linux）及其熟練程度，可能就是順道做一個調(diào)查，為將來升級自己的網(wǎng)申系統(tǒng)做準備。"computers"、"operating systems"都是復(fù)數(shù)，不應(yīng)該是你理解的那樣。

這個問題只針對計算機專業(yè)申請，它下面的問題就是問參加過的計算機課程。。。感覺挺奇怪的
