石溪大學數學專業本科生教育好不好

這是在facebook、unigo等地找到的美國學生對石溪大學本科數學的評價（沒有作篩選，找到啥是啥）：

1.Most of the university's attention is on science, technology, engineering and mathematics majors and this often have the most work. However, there are some great and often underrated humanities instructor, as well. 這個說這個學校重理工（STEM），但仍然有不少好的人文教授。
2.Academics are very challenging. It is an extremely competitive school. You have to put a lot of time and effort into the math and science majors. It is not for someone who wants an easy degree. You can go to different school and get a higher GPA easily. 這個說這個學校GPA卡得比較低，說你在其它學校說不定輕易就可以拿個高GPA，再有就是數學、理科專業需要下點功夫
3.There is access to internships and job opportunities at the career center but nothing especially towards sociology as the school is mostly full of more science and math majors. 還是說這個學校重理輕文。然后說兼職和工作機會多多。
4.The math professors here suck, I learned everything by myself on the internet or meeting with my TA. Everything else seems to be ok。說這個學校的數學教授很爛的，自己基本都是跟著助教自學的，其它都還OK。
5.The academics at stony brook are exceptional. Best school for science and math. 說這個學校學術一切都很好，數理最佳學校。
6.The majority of the people at Stony Brook are science, engineering, math, or health services majors. 還是說這個學校偏重STEM，外加衛生/健康類專業。
7.Stony Brook's science and math courses are extremely challenging. My Chemistry and Math professors were terrible. They made class horrible and not worth going to class. 說這個學校數學和理科很難，教授很次，課上得很差，不值得去。
8.Number One in Research – Stony brook is a Famous research university. The professors are all great and work hard with the students. Stony brook is known for science and math majors. 研究非常棒，很著名的一所研究型大學。教授強悍，工作勤懇。以數學和科學著稱。

這些個評論說明啥呢？1.石溪是以理工著稱的，而且也側重理工；2.至于教授可能就各有各的感受了，有好也有差；3.數學可能有點難（對美國人。。）

怎么說呢，本科主要還是看學校，跟專業的關系不是很大。
