奧本大學（Auburn University，縮寫AU）成立于1856年，位于美國阿拉巴馬州的奧本市，是一所公立研究型大學，學生人數約21000人，教師人數1200人，是阿拉巴馬州最大的學校之一，也是阿拉巴馬州最早開設四年制大學課程的學校。奧本大學的體育隊好用“奧本之虎（Auburn Tigers）”來命名自己。
學校歷史
奧本大學由南衛理公會教宗創立，是一所私立教會學校，但現在已于教會沒有任何關系。學校經歷了多次改名：校名初為“東阿拉巴馬男子學院（East Alabama Male College）”，1872年依據莫里爾法案，接受了聯邦贈地，更名為“阿拉巴馬農工大學（Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama）”，主要專注于文科與農學（Arts & Agriculture）；1899年，受時任校長布龍博士農工文理并重的思想影響，學校更名為“阿拉巴馬理工學校（Alabama Polytechnic Institute ）”；隨著學校課程及專業門類的增多，上世紀60年代，學校更名為現今的“奧本大學”，以適應學校已經成為一所綜合性大學的現實。

奧本大學校園占地面積1843英畝（約7.45平方公里），學校內建筑呈網格線分布，院系分布十分明顯——校園北部是大部分工程學院的樓房所在地、法學院、學校古老的行政管理大樓也在這里；校園中部是文理學院（美術系除外）、教育學院的所在地；校園南部則是理學院大本營，美術系也位于這里。
