學校歷史

弗吉尼亞聯邦大學的正式成立是在1968年，當時的里士滿專業學院（Richmond Professional Institute, RPI）與弗吉尼亞醫學院（Medical College of Virginia, MCV）合并，正式組建了弗吉尼亞聯邦大學。但是弗吉尼亞醫學院的歷史卻可以追溯至1838年漢普登·悉尼學院在里士滿開設的醫學系，1854年，該系獨立，成為弗吉尼亞醫學院。里士滿專業學院則系1917年成立，初名里士滿社會工作與公共衛生學院（Richmond School of Social Work and Public Health），1925年成為威廉瑪麗學院的一個學部，1939年更名為里士滿專業學院，仍然隸屬威廉瑪麗學院，直至1962年正式獨立。1968年，弗吉尼亞州議會法批準將弗吉尼亞醫學院和里士滿專業學院，組建弗吉尼亞聯邦大學。該校后來將1838年作為自己的立校的開始。*(5)

9.Thirsty? Drinks from vending machines on campus cost $1.25. It may not be faster, but it's definitely cheaper to get a drink from the cart vendor on the side of the road.
